Surya Bonaly is a French figure skater and Olympian; she landed a backflip on one foot at the 1998 Winter Olympics. ⛸️❄️

This move is so dangerous and hard to pull off that it was made illegal in 1976 and Surya was penalized for it.

After a slip in her performance Surya knew she had to pull something incredible out of the bag, but unfortunately the judges played by the rules landing her in 10th place.

She may not have made 1st place but she sure did make history! ⭐️
