How I started
I have been swimming since I was an infant and continued swimming through school as it was part of my curriculum, but through the lessons in school I began club swimming and competing at the age of 9 and ended up winning the Derbyshire County Championships and ended up seeing through my training each evening after school.
My Greatest Achievement
My greatest achievement is achieving a Commonwealth Games silver medal and breaking my own British record for 50m Breaststroke. Coming up to the Commonwealth Games I had been honing my skills and perfecting my race psychology and making that when I got to the Commonwealth Games I would be able to enjoy it and almost leave the training behind in a sense.
I remember being handed the board with the time and knowing that I had broken not only my own British breaststroke record but also improved on my personal best time too! I remember stepping onto the podium knowing my family were in the stands watching me compete and even after the race my dad gave an interview.
My Greatest Challenge
The greatest challenge I have ever faced was getting back into the water after suffering a seizure in the water in 2015. Doctors had advised me to be careful when getting back into the water, so from there I made slight changes such as wearing a different swimming hat to stand out more in the water and also informing promoters of met condition in order to adapt to situations where I may be stood on a podium or any other time where I may be heavily photographed due to the flashes from the cameras.
My Hobbies
Outside of Swimming, I enjoy Gardening, taking care of my flowers, and taking my dogs out on long walks!
My Future Aspirations
In the future, I am looking to make the world championships team and complete my Sports Massage course.
