How I started
Born in London, Stephanie started Taekwondo at the age of six following her own father’s footsteps and success. She first represented Britain at the Junior European Championships and swiftly progressed to the elite level graduating to the highest division at the age of 18 within Team GB alongside some of the most prestigious athletes in history. Stephanie has competed in a total of 14 international events, is a five time champion of Great Britain, and has medalled 11 times internationally including one Gold, three Silver and seven Bronze medals. Stephanie is currently studying for a Bsc in applied sport science at Loughborough University whilst exploring the possibility of a career in the sports industry.
My Greatest Achievement
Stephanie classes her greatest achievement as being a European championships quarter finalist. She felt honoured and a sense of pride in representing her own nation and being able to get so far in such a massive competition! She enjoyed the atmosphere and loved hearing the cheers from friends and family in the stands. She also continued to thrive in the high pressure environment and welcomed it with positivity and focus.
My Greatest Challenge
Steph’s greatest challenge is not medalling at an event. This is because she knows she has what it takes to bring home a gold medal. To improve upon these results, Steph goes back to the drawing board and identifies what went wrong by rewatching footage of final moments etc. and begins to tailor her training routines, starts putting extra hours in and focusses on mistakes she has made. This is because Steph knows that Taekwondo is a game of perfection.
My Hobbies
Steph loves travelling, television and film. Steph also loves cooking! Her favourite meals to make at home are typically Jamaican and Nigerian and pastas, Steph really enjoys visiting a restaurant called Vapianos that serves handmade pasta!
My goals
My future goals are to become a Life coach and to own a Performance Psychology consultancy.
